Ridge Runner Mountain Coaster

Glide along 1KM of track and tour the terrain – or turn it into a thrill ride at speeds up to 42KM/H!  Ridge Runner is a simple and equipment free favorite among all ages.  We’ll keep you on track but with most things at Blue Mountain, you are the driver!

Ridge Runner Mountain Coaster Details:

Driver

  • To ride alone, you must be 13 years of age of older and 137cm (54in) tall
  • Maximum weight capacity per cart: 330lbs
  • Minimum of 16 years of age to drive with a passenger in the cart

Passenger – Must ride with an adult of at least 16 years of age

  • 3 to 12 years old and a minimum of 102cm (40in) tall
  • Passengers must be no taller than the driver’s shoulders

Experience Ontario’s largest, four-season Mountain Village.  Whether you’re a first-timer or a seasoned veteran, you’ll discover all that is exciting this winter at Blue Mountain.  Experience the Orchard expansion which includes an additional 64 acres of terrain, a new high-speed, six-person chairlift and six new trails. Snow making infrastructure has been added to three of the six trails and night lighting has been added on all six trails. The increased terrain provided by the Orchard expansion is equivalent to adding 21 percent of the current terrain and increases skiable terrain to 364 total acres across 42 trails – the most in Ontario!

Hike N’ Tube gives guests a taste of downhill without the speed and equipment associated with skiing and snowboarding. At the steps to The Westin Trillium House and in the heart of the Village you’ll find the area’s largest free outdoor rink  – five acres of skating on the Mill Pond at the base of Blue Mountain. Skate rentals are available at the Skating Hut at the south end of the Mill Pond.

Take a leap of faith on the Apex Bagjump.  Work your way up to the maximum height of 6.5 metres (21FT) and prepare for a free fall onto the airbag waiting below.  Satisfy your inner thrill seeker with the ultimate adrenaline rush!  One qualifying jump plus two additional jumps.

Timber Challenge High Ropes - Reopening Spring 2017

Bring tried and true (and some new) techinques.  Climb ladders, cross bridges and cruise zip lines.  Increase your comfort zone and find creative ways to navigate the exciting elements in store for you on this challenging Ontario ropes course.  Individuals and teams will test their inner and outer strength as they overcome new challenges on their own and with a little help from friends.

Timber Challenge High Ropes Details – Ages 13 & up

  • Must be 13 years of age or older and able to reach 1.8M (6FT) with flat feet on the ground
  • Up to three hours of access, including Ground School training
  • Maximum weight:  113kg (250lbs)
  • Harness, helmet and gloves are provided
  • Closed toe and closed back shoes required, running shoes recommended

Timber Challenge High Ropes Details – Ages 10 to 12

  • Must be 10 to 12 years old with the ability to reach 1.5M (5FT) for the green courses and 1.8M (6FT) for the blue courses with flat feet on the ground
  • Access to the green and blue courses only
  • Children ages 10 to 12 must be accompanied by an adult 18 years of age or older at a maximum of two children per adult
  • Up to three hours of access on green and blue courses, including Ground School training

Visit Activity Central building to purchase tickets.  Mandatory basic instruction is provided by trained Blue Mountain Resort staff prior to participation.  One course in each level must be completed before advancing to more difficult levels.  Participants must have sufficient physical dexterity and the ability to use the equipment properly.  For safety reasons, pregnant women and individuals who have undergone kidney transplants are prohibited from participating on any ropes course.  Additional restrictions may apply.

Mountaintop Segway Tours - Reopening Spring 2017

It shouldn’t be hard work to play!   There is too much to see to go slow when you ride the outer limits of Blue Mountain.  Segway from hiking to crusing as you survey hidden views of Blue Mountain Village and Georgian Bay.  A trained guide will show you how to operate your own two-wheeled Segway transporation machine and then let you take the wheel.

Mountaintop Segway Tours

  • Participants must be 16 years of age or older to operate a Segway transportation machine
  • Must weigh 45-113kg (100-250lbs)

Open Air Gondola - Reopening Spring 2017

All of Blue Mountain at a glance.  Come with a perfect day in mind and plan it out en route with 360 degree views of everything as you approach the top.  The open air gondola provides perfect pictures for avid planners as it gently rises to the picnic areas and scenic lookouts above.  Cameras welcome.

Monterra Golf - Reopening Spring 2017

Challenge yourself with a round at one of Ontario’s most popular resort courses — Monterra Golf. Monterra, meaning “land at the bottom of the mountain,” was designed by Tom McBroom and opened in 1989. This public, resort course has proven to be a formidable challenge for golfers from North America and abroad. Monterra offers a full-service golf shop, deli and bar, a practice area, on-course sanctuary at the 5th and 10th tees, and a brand new GPS tracking system on all carts allowing you to play every shot knowing exactly where you stand in relation to the pin.

Blue Mountain Beach - Reopening Summer 2017

Warm waters on a sandy beach.  10-minutes from the resort waits a private beach where you might open an umbrella and watch as sand castles are raised or embark on a bit of swimming in the warm waters that rest along the pristine shores of Georgian Bay.  Peace and quiet have their place but friends and family might appreciate opportunities to venture further into Georgian Bay with kayaks, stand up paddle boards and canoes.  You can too!
