Short Term Accommodation (STA) Licensing By-Law

The Town of the Blue Mountains enacted a Short Term Accommodation (STA) Licensing By-law on July 2nd, 2014. The STA Licensing By-law applies to owners who independently rent their properties for 30 days or less (i.e., are not renting their properties through a rental management company with a minimum of 10 units within a “neighborhood” in the Town of Blue Mountains (including non-core Blue Mountain Village communities).
The STA Licensing By-law does not apply to motels, hotels, bed and breakfast establishments, tourist cabins or cottages, commercial resort units (CRU) managed by a rental manager with more than 10 units within a neighborhood, core Blue Mountain Village properties, or similar commercial or institutional uses.

The STA Licensing By-law falls outside the scope of Blue Mountain Village Association (BMVA), and is an initiative overseen and managed completely by the Town of Blue Mountains. https://www.thebluemountains.ca/short-term-accommodations.cfm?is=26
