Enjoy the outdoors, take pride in the spectacular display of our culture, and let’s party the weekend away.
Kicking off on Friday, December 6, we’ll set the mood with lively live parang music. Then, on Saturday, the celebration continues with a full day of exciting Caribbean performances, featuring vibrant steelpan, tassa, and soca rhythms. As the sun sets, get ready to party with Dr. Jay de Soca Prince and other special guests, bringing the ultimate carnival vibes to life! Don’t forget to wear your carnival costume pieces and show off your festive spirit!

King Cosmo
Henry Gomez, known in the music world as "King Cosmos," is a celebrated Calypso performer from Trinidad and Tobago. A graduate of the University of Toronto and York University, he has performed internationally and at major Toronto venues like Harbourfront Centre and The Bamboo Club. Known for hits like "Island Girl," King Cosmos has released several albums, including Culture Shock (1990) and Half Breed (1998). A former Canadian Calypso Monarch and award-winning artist, he is also a founding member of OCPA.
The Hummingbird Tassa Group
The Hummingbird Tassa Group was founded in Trinidad in 1954 by Deo Doon, who taught his four sons—Vijay, Danny, Dan, and Suresh—the art of Tassa rhythms. The family band dominated major Tassa competitions, becoming one of the most sought-after groups in Trinidad and Tobago. In 1989, Vijay moved to Toronto and reformed the band, quickly achieving the same success and popularity. Today, the Hummingbird Tassa Group is widely regarded as the best Tassa band in Canada.
Dance Caribe Performing Company
Dance Caribe Performing Company (DCPC), founded in 1989 by Martin Scott-Pascall, is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to preserving Caribbean dance. Over its 34 years, DCPC has showcased traditional and contemporary Caribbean dance, earning acclaim in Ontario, Québec, British Columbia, the USA, and internationally in Hong Kong, Mexico, and the Caribbean. The company has performed at prestigious events such as the Pan Am Games (2015) and Winter Olympics (2010), winning numerous awards, including the Caribbean Music and Entertainment Award for Best Dance Company.
De Soca Prince
When it comes to the Caribbean music scene in Canada, Dr. Jay is considered Soca royalty. With over 25 years of experience and his vast talents on the ones-and-twos, “De Soca Prince” is most notably the nation’s top rated Soca DJ.
