Village Grounds Keeper –Full Time – Student Position
The Blue Mountain Village Association (BMVA) is a not-for-profit association with a vision to be the first-choice, year-round destination for those seeking personalized and authentic experiences that create lasting memories.
We do this by maintaining all common areas and facilities in the Blue Mountain Village, hosting award-winning festivals and events, marketing locally & internationally, decorating for each season, providing security, beautifying through landscaping, snow & garbage removal, offering shuttle service for members and guests, operating the Plunge Aquatic Centre, and maintaining key Village infrastructure. BMVA also liaises with all levels of government on behalf of its members to ensure that the Village and the region experience positive economic growth.
The Village experience comprises outdoor adventures and activities, hotels & lodging, restaurants, retail stores, unique services, festivals, nature experiences, a public streetscape and more – open 365 days a year.
The
Village Grounds Keeper works closely with our Operations & Facilities Team to ensure that our village is maintained at a world-class level. Responsibilities include but are not limited to;
- Complete daily village inspection report to identify and eliminate potential safety hazards.
- Litter picking and changing garbage receptacles throughout the Village grounds
- General site repairs, i.e. fencing, chairs, decking, drywall, and minor painting, etc.
- General cleaning and sanitizing with the use of household cleaning products, power washing
- Daily maintenance and inspection of village equipment & attractions (Playground, Village Fountain, Mill Pond Dock, Info Hut, Electrical Huts, Snowbridge Pathway, and Village Washrooms, etc.)
- Operating utility carts, hand tools, power tools
- Daily set up and tear down of village activations
- Assisting BMVA Events Team and 3rd Party Contractors as required
- Ensure village signage (flags, banners, maps), and activations are in good shape and not damaged
- Periodic lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organized workspace
- Able to work independently with little to no supervision
The position will be a 2 month contract from July 10
th, 2025 until September 7
th, 2025; 40 hours a week. Weekend and evening shifts are required for this position; candidates must be flexible to accommodate.
Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour + 4% Vacation Pay
