Marketing Specialist – Social and Content Creation
Reports To: Marketing Manager - Destination
Department: Marketing and Events
Primary Responsibilities:
· Grow and maintain our online and digital presence by ensuring our content is engaging, consistent, and reflects our brand's values and goals.
· Manage social media accounts, create, edit, and publish written and multimedia content on our website and other digital channels, and oversee visual design for marketing and event assets.
Content Development
- Plan and manage the monthly editorial content calendar.
- Collaborate with other departments, stakeholders, and members to gather necessary information for content.
- Develop and curate engaging content for all social media platforms.
- Produce, write, and gather content for a weekly consumer newsletter using Constant Contact.
- Maintain a consistent brand voice across all content.
- Leverage your creative skills by capturing and editing video and photography content.
- Gain social and web analytics insights to assist in content creation and planning.
Visual Assets Steward
- Maintain the asset DAM and User Generated Content Program on Crowdriff.
- Schedule and lead photo and video shoots when necessary.
Maintain Digital Platforms
Social Media
- Execute the social media plan on current social channels - X, Facebook, and Instagram.
- Build visitor relationships online through engagement with comments, messages, and inquiries.
- Stay up to speed on social media updates, tools, trends, and emerging platforms.
- Ensure all accounts are secure and follow best-in-class security protocols.
Website, App & Digital Signage
- Continually monitor and update the Village Association websites, apps, and digital signage to ensure accurate information and correct content.
- Build new pages, including copy and visuals as needed for events, listings, and campaigns.
- Build seasonal itineraries.
Creative Services On-site
Utilizing your creative skills in Canva or with the support of our creative agency:
- Plan and execute the Village on-site signage program.
- Support on-site events and facility team with creative development and execution.
- Develop marketing ads, logos, or other visual assets as required.
Marketing Support
- Attend Village events when necessary to capture content and support our village events team.
- Understand the village's events plan and assist in planning and executing marketing collateral and support.
- Develop Canva or PowerPoint presentations for departments as needed.
- Perform administrative responsibilities associated with the execution of the Village marketing plan.
- Work on special projects as determined by the Marketing Manager.
Key Competency
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and outstanding copywriting and proofreading skills.
- High level of creativity.
- Self-starter who can independently move projects forward, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Firm grasp on various marketing platforms, channels, and best practices, including social, digital, and email marketing.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in MS Office, Canva, Constant Contact, Google Analytics, and Crowdriff an asset.
- Proficiency in content creation – written and multimedia.
