Benefits of Membership

Benefits of Membership

The BMVA is a not for profit association formed to manage assets, grow your rentals, increase the value of suites and offer unique experiences to our members and their guests.   Our principal responsibilities include destination marketing, events & festivals, garbage and snow removal, replacement and repair of damaged infrastructure, stewardship of the Millpond, the operation of Plunge! Aquatic Centre, seasonal decorations, landscaping, security and shuttle service.  We also interface with all levels of government and other resort stakeholders/partners to represent our members best interests.  In summary, our mandate is to ensure the Village is recognized as a premier four-season destination by meeting the highest standards applicable and by doing so, enhance and provide sustainability to our members investments.

Our Membership Community

Every stakeholder in the Village is a member of the BMVA.  Stakeholders are voting members of the BMVA and are encouraged to participate in the direction of the BMVA by becoming a member of the Board and/or Committees and attending the Annual General Meeting.  This allows each member to have a voice in their Village Association.

Resort Shuttle – Convenience for you and your guests

The resort shuttle is provided as an alternative mode of transportation around the resort.  Our members enjoy shuttle servicing 365 days per year.

Connecting you to the Village

A public transit service is available between the Village and Collingwood/Wasaga Beach partially funded by the BMVA and BMR to more fully integrate the Village with the surrounding communities. A service agreement with a local taxi company enhances the guest experience for patrons and members enjoying the shopping and dining in the Village.

Communications & Information – Your 411 & 911

Members are kept current on Village activities by mail, email, website, meetings or e-newletters.  Members and the public can follow the activities of the BMVA on our website or through Social Media channels; Facebook, Twitter, Trip Advisor and Instagram.  By subscribing to the newsletter you can keep informed of all the events and activities happening that week in the Village.  The Members Only section on the website provides members with news, privileges and other important communications.

Member Privilege Program - PERKS

Members and their immediate family who reside with them can apply to receive the BMVA Membership Privilege Program ID, which entitles members to special discounts and/or offers while shopping and dining in the Village.  Further details on these perks can be found here. Members also receive access to various VIP member events held throughout the year.

Events – Your year-round social calendar

Award winning events and entertainment are provided in the Village on weekends for 10 months of the year and every day during the summer and peak vacation periods.  These events drive visitation to the Village, support revenue generation for members units in rental programs, and drives shopping & dining activity in the Village to sustain property values for all members.  Our events calendar can be found here.

Government Relations – Representing your voice

The BMVA is an advocate for members and liaises with governments at all levels, ie: Pandemic recovery and supports.  By engaging with various levels of government and responding to issues, BMVA ensures our members’ diverse interests are communicated so that their needs can be better considered.  For more information, contact Andrew Siegwart, President of the Blue Mountain Village Association.

Marketing – Increase your revenue

By building Blue Mountain Village’s brand, we ensure sustainable growth of visitation and increased property values. Our comprehensive marketing program aims to reach target markets both locally and internationally through print, radio and broadcast advertising to promote our award-winning festivals and shopping and dining; international marketing in association with Ontario Travel and Destination Canada; Friends and Media (FAM) Tours for key influencers; Digital marketing and social media; and drive regional marketing programs like The Apple Pie Trail to increase the length of visitor stays and build the international profile of our region as a tourism destination.

Property Tax Classification

Membership in the BMVA is a requirement for re-classification of property tax class for properties in short-term rental programs from Commercial to Resort Condominium.  In the Blue Mountains, the rate for Resort Condominium is equivalent to the rate of Residential.  Commercial is currently almost triple the rate of Residential; therefore, annual cost savings from this property tax change for members is significant.
