Town of The Blue Mountains Municipal Election, October 24, 2022

BMVA Member Resources

BMVA consists of a diverse group of members, often with diverse interests and needs.  Working with all member categories (residential, commercial, lodging, developer, resort operator, etc.), we have identified 5 issues upon which we recommend this next Council focus:

  • Economic recovery
  • Local labour market development & attainable housing
  • Transportation and transit improvements
  • Sustainability
  • Closing the infrastructure and service gaps in Village residential communities, e.g., road safety, trail connections, sidewalks and safety, public parks & amenities, etc.
While our members will have a variety of takes on these issues, our aim is to spark dialogue and to promote active participation by our members to vote for the candidates that YOU believe will serve your best interests.  Between now and October 24, BMVA will undertake the following initiatives to help members learn more about the candidates and their takes on the issues that matter to them:

  • Candidate questionnaires & responses (see below);
  • Host meet-the-candidate sessions to allow community members to hear directly from candidates and to be able to ask questions  (Mondays, between 5-7 p.m. at the L.E. Shore Public Library in Thornbury
  • Conduct interviews with candidates; and
  • Andrew Siegwart; BMVA President hosted an Election All-Candidates Meeting on Saturday, October 15, 2022 at the Village Conference Centre.  Video is posted below.
